RecipeMirror: cook it the way it was shown.

People learn to cook from videos, then can’t follow them at the hob. RecipeMirror turns a cooking video, recipe or recording into a step-by-step guide that stays faithful to the source.

Traction

Early access. Live usage figures will appear here as our first cooks come on board — read straight from the database, never estimated.

The problem

Recipe apps rewrite what a cook showed into their own template — and fill the gaps with amounts and timings the cook never gave. The dish that comes out is not the one in the video. A grandmother’s “a handful” becomes “100 g”, and the thing worth keeping is lost.

How it works

  1. 1Paste a videoA YouTube cooking video, a recipe page, or a family recording.
  2. 2Get a faithful guideSteps and amounts in the cook’s own words, English beside the source language. Amounts they never gave stay blank.
  3. 3Cook from itCook mode with timers and Show original at each step, a shopping list and calories.

Business model

Free to start on the web, with paid plans for people who cook from many guides and for households and kitchens. See pricing

Market

Home cooks who learn from YouTube, Instagram and TikTok; families keeping recipes across generations and languages; kitchens and cooking schools training people. We will add market figures here only with a named, linked source.
