Why the code? Because “type your channel name and we will send you the numbers” hands a report about your work to whoever claims to be you. Only the account holder can edit a channel description, which is exactly the thing being proved — and it asks you to grant us nothing.
Counts, never people. A channel report needs twenty cooks in total. Each recipe needs eight cooks before it is broken out; quieter recipes stay in the totals only. Each step has its own floor on top of that. No kitchen, no name, no time of day, and nothing anybody wrote in a notes box.
